Travelling with twins

I haven't taken our twins on holidays yet. To be honest I am a bit scared that it will be so exhausting that I have avoided it all together. Have you or anyone you know travelled to a destination with twins in tow and found it to be a wonderful experience? What advice would you give to those travelling with twins?
